“Vintage should always be an inspiration for the winemaker, and so should the specificities of each climat.”
HENRI JAYER
A TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT WINES OF BURGUNDY
Our vineyard philosophy is built on relationships—both with the land and the people who farm it. Organic farming is the baseline at Walter Scott, with many of our growers taking further steps to integrate biodynamic and regenerative practices into their vineyards.
Long-term acreage contracts create a foundation of trust and shared risk, allowing us to take bold steps together. From timing critical vineyard tasks with precision to pushing for lower yields and refining canopy management, we collaborate to harness the full expression of each site and vintage. We strive to work with growers who share our relentless pursuit of excellence and believe that true progress comes from observation, experimentation, and a willingness to push boundaries.
With great risk comes great reward.
The Eola-Amity Hills AVA is the heart of our work, a place defined by extremes. Exposed and dramatic, it is shaped by the relentless Van Duzer winds and unforgiving rocky soils. The people who farm these vineyards work harder because they have to. There are no shortcuts to growing exceptional fruit. The wines born from this landscape reflect its intensity, delivering precision, tension, and electricity.
Beyond Eola-Amity Hills, we work with a collection of vineyards that inspire us through the dedication, commitment, and craftsmanship of their growers. These vineyards tell a story. Exceptional wines come from great places, but only when paired with people bold enough to take risks.
