JESS PIERCE | GENERAL MANAGER
Born and raised in Southern Louisiana, Jess Pierce brings a comprehensive perspective on wine, shaped by years in fine dining, winemaking, education, and business strategy. Her expertise provides a deep understanding of how wines are made, how they taste, and how they connect with people.
Her love for Riesling took her across the world to study and work with iconic producers, including Dr. Loosen and Selbach-Oster in the Mosel Valley and Brooks Wines in Oregon. She spent a year in Piedmont, Italy, earning a Master’s degree in Food Culture and Communications at the University of Gastronomic Sciences, where she studied terroir, sustainability, and the cultural connections between wine and food. This experience continues to shape her approach today.
A dedicated educator and industry leader, Jess has taught at Linfield University and The Wine and Spirits Archive, served on marketing committees for the Willamette Valley Wineries Association and Eola-Amity Hills Winegrowers Association, and volunteered as a sommelier at IPNC for over a decade. She holds WSET and International Sommelier Guild diplomas and certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
At Walter Scott, Jess works alongside Erica and Ken, contributing to sales, logistics, and winemaking. With their support and within their cellar, she launched Pierce Riesling, a label dedicated to her unending pursuit of Riesling education. Jess’s approach is sharp, focused, and unapologetic—just like the wines she loves. Some people chase trends; Jess chases electric white wines.
